Goethe-Zertifikat C2 practice test: reading, listening, grammar, writing and speaking

Short answer: C2 is mastery: you can understand virtually everything, summarise from several sources and express fine shades of meaning, including irony and shifts of register. The real exam takes about 3 hours; this mock gives you one task of each type, marked instantly, with English translations to check yourself and a model answer for writing. Find out how the exam works in the Goethe and TestDaF guide.

Speak for the time given

Summarise two short texts with opposing views on city tourism, then argue your own position and respond to the examiner’s objections.

Tap a phrase to hear it, then use at least three of them. Time yourself: the examiner marks fluency, range and accuracy, not perfect content.
