German clothes vocabulary: einen roten Pullover, anziehen, and Größe 38
Der Kleiderständer · pick an item, then a colour
Nominative · it is
DasthatistiseinaroterredPullover.jumper
das ist ain ROHT-er pu-LOH-ver · “That’s a red jumper.”
Accusative · I’m wearing

ikh TRAA-ge AI-nen ROHT-en pu-LOH-ver · “I’m wearing a red jumper.”
Why:Pullover is der. Masculine is the only gender that changes: ein roter (subject) becomes einen roten (object of tragen).
Short answer: “to wear” is tragen: ich trage, du trägst. A colour before a noun takes an adjective ending that depends on the gender and the case: ein roter Pullover (it is), but ich trage einen roten Pullover (I’m wearing). Getting dressed is sich anziehen, undressing sich ausziehen, trying on anprobieren. Sizes are die Größe; Germany uses European sizes.
Clothes by gender
Der Pullover, die Jacke, das Hemd
As always in German, learn each word with its article and its plural. Two traps for English speakers: die Hose (trousers) is singular in German, and das Handy is a phone, not a garment.

Colour endings after ein
Ein roter, eine rote, ein rotes
After ein / eine / einen (“a”), the colour shows the gender that the article cannot. Only the masculine changes between subject (nominative) and object (accusative). Full rules are in adjective endings.

Lila, rosa and orange often stay unchanged in everyday speech (ein rosa Kleid). Ein dunkelblauer Mantel: shades join the colour as one word.
Getting dressed
Anziehen, ausziehen, umziehen, anprobieren
These are separable verbs: the prefix (an, aus, um) goes to the end. With sich they mean dressing yourself; without it, dressing a thing or someone else. Sich umziehen also means “to change clothes”, while umziehen alone means “to move house”.
